This film was created in the demanding winter conditions of Northern Norway, where low light, freezing temperatures and fast-moving wildlife require a precise and flexible setup. My goal was to combine cinematic image quality with a minimal presence in the field.

Most telephoto wildlife scenes were captured with the Sony 200–600mm lens, chosen for its sharp reach and internal zoom design — ideal in snow, salt spray and sub-zero temperatures. Smooth motion tracking was handled on a fluid head system, allowing stable pans even when following unpredictable subjects such as otters in rough coastal waters.

To preserve the natural atmosphere of the Arctic blue hour, I worked with a fixed white balance and log-based workflows, giving greater control in post-production while maintaining the cold, moody tones of the landscape.

Alongside the main camera setup, selected moments were filmed on the iPhone 15 Pro in ProRes Log. Its small footprint allowed discreet, spontaneous captures where larger gear would disturb the scene.

The final film blends long-lens wildlife observation, mobile cinematography and careful color grading to reflect the raw beauty of life at the Arctic edge.
